EvilKnight
Зловещий рыцарь
Shield of Skeletonactive, one ally plus enemies around them
Evil Knight shields the lowest-HP ally, absorbing 150 / 200 / 250 damage for 15 s. When the shield expires it bursts, dealing magical damage equal to the amount absorbed to nearby enemies; cooldown 10 / 8 / 6 s.
Role: the cheapest way to add front-line support — the shield buys your melee units time and the burst adds some area damage. Picked from the very first rounds for Knight and Egersis synergies, and he stays relevant all the way to three stars.

Synergies
Synergy effect:
(3) All non-Egersis pieces on both sides receive the Plague effect: starting health −10%.
(6) All non-Egersis pieces on both sides receive the Plague effect: starting health −45%.
(9) All non-Egersis pieces on both sides receive the Plague effect: starting health −45%, and infected pieces additionally lose 5% of max health every 2 seconds (the reduction limit is calculated from starting health).
Egersis pieces do not appear in the piece shop at the start of the game. They can only be obtained by equipping the "Egersis Pact" gear or through the "Gamble Box" sacred relic.
How to play
Egersis weakens everyone who is not Egersis, including your own pieces, so the synergy is built as a core rather than an add-on. (3) already trims the enemy's health, (6) makes the Plague genuinely painful, and (9) adds constant health loss throughout the fight. There are many heroes at different costs, but because of the special way they are obtained, the build depends on whether the right gear or relic comes your way.
Synergy effect:
(2) Allied Knights have a 25% chance every 3 seconds to gain a damage reduction shield lasting 4 seconds.
(4) Allied Knights have a 25% chance every 3 seconds to gain a damage reduction shield lasting 4 seconds.
(6) Allied Knights have a 25% chance every 3 seconds to gain a damage reduction shield lasting 4 seconds. Activating any damage reduction shield restores 300 health.
Class trait: Knights receive 1 Knight buff at the start of the battle.
Damage reduction shield: reduces physical and magical damage by 50%, but does not reduce pure damage.
The effects of multiple synergy tiers stack: each tier rolls its own chance to trigger the shield, but the shield's damage reduction limit does not change.
How to play
Knights are a reliable shield-based front line: (2) already gives them a chance to keep gaining a shield that halves physical and magical damage, and with (4) and (6) the chances stack, so shields are up almost constantly; at (6) every shield also heals. The class assembles early thanks to cheap heroes, while the expensive Knights close the higher thresholds in the mid and late game. Knights are vulnerable to pure damage, but against physical and magical damage they are one of the most durable front lines.

hero story
Evil Knight — The Knight So Dark Even the Undead Ask Him to Smile
Evil Knight was once an ordinary knight.
Well, almost ordinary.
He wore black armor.
Lived in a cave.
Talked to the mist.
And considered the phrase:
“Good morning”
far too optimistic.
For generations, his clan guarded an ancient Source — a place where strange black mist constantly rose from the depths.
The elders warned him:
“Do not get too close.”
Evil Knight asked:
“Why?”
“The mist changes people.”
He looked at the mist.
Then at the elders.
And said:
“Sounds interesting.”
Five minutes later, he was already standing inside it.
That was the end of his career as a normal person.
And the beginning of his career as a problem for the entire Autochess board.
When Evil Knight emerged from the mist, his eyes burned with blue fire, his skin was colder than a gravestone, and the dead had started whispering around him.
The first thing one elder asked was:
“Are you alright?”
Evil Knight looked at his glowing hands.
Then at the skeleton standing beside him.
Then back at the elder.
“Better than ever.”
He was exiled soon after.
Official reason:
“Desecration of sacred traditions.”
Unofficial reason:
“He scares the children.”
Evil Knight considers exile a promotion.
Now nobody stops him from experimenting with the power of the mist.
His greatest success was Skeleton Shield.
That was not the name he wanted.
Evil Knight originally called it:
“Necrotic Barrier of Eternal Suffering Woven from the Pain of the Fallen.”
His allies said:
“Too long.”
So it became:
“Skeleton Shield.”
He is still offended.
The spell is simple.
Evil Knight casts dark protection on an ally.
The ally gets a shield.
Nearby enemies get problems.
A lot of problems.
Sometimes the protected ally asks:
“Is this safe?”
Evil Knight replies:
“For you? Probably.”
Why does the shield hurt nearby enemies?
Because Evil Knight considers ordinary defense boring.
In his opinion, a proper shield should not only save you.
It should also make the enemy regret coming closer.
He calls this:
“Active defense.”
His allies call it:
“Don’t touch the blue thing.”
The strange part is that Evil Knight genuinely cares about his team.
He just expresses it differently.
If an ally is badly wounded, he does not say:
“Hold on, my friend!”
He says:
“It is not your time to die yet.”
If they thank him for saving them, he replies:
“Don’t thank me. I still need you as a target.”
Very motivating.
Once, Evil Knight was invited to join an order of holy knights.
He attended the interview.
The Holy Knight asked:
“Do you believe in honor?”
“Sometimes.”
“Justice?”
“Depends.”
“The Light?”
Evil Knight looked at his burning blue eyes.
“I brought my own.”
The interview ended shortly after.
Very shortly.
Nobody understands his mount either.
Officially, it is a warhorse.
In practice, it is a giant armored nightmare covered in spikes, teeth, and the permanent facial expression of:
“I already ate one squire and I regret nothing.”
Evil Knight affectionately calls it:
“Tiny.”
Someone once tried to pet Tiny.
That person now has a new profession.
Ghost.
On the battlefield, Evil Knight barely speaks.
He simply rides forward.
Blue eyes burning.
Mace ready.
Mount growling.
And even the bravest enemies suddenly remember they may have left the stove on at home.
He especially hates hearing:
“He’s just a one-cost unit.”
His usual response is:
“Come closer.”
After that, price is no longer the main concern.
Evil Knight does not consider himself evil.
He prefers the word:
“Pragmatic.”
If an ally needs protection — he protects them.
If an enemy needs destruction — he destroys them.
If someone needs to be resurrected —
he first asks:
“Do we actually need him?”
A very efficient approach.
Evil Knight’s greatest dream is to fully understand the Source.
Why did the mist choose him?
Why did it give him this power?
And why, every night, does a voice from deep inside the cave whisper:
“Give the helmet back.”
Evil Knight pretends not to hear it.
He likes the helmet.
Purchase quote:
“You bought me for one gold? Don’t get used to making decisions this good.”
Entering battle:
“Who needs a shield today… and who needs a grave?”
Using Skeleton Shield:
“Don’t move. It probably won’t explode.”
When the shield damages enemies:
“Working as intended.”
When saving an ally:
“I didn’t save you. I postponed your death.”
After killing an enemy:
“The mist will take the rest.”
At low health:
“Death already knows my address.”
When sold:
“You’ll remember me. Usually at night.”
At three stars:
“Now even darkness asks me to keep it down.”
And Evil Knight’s most important rule:
“The best shield is the one that makes the enemy need a shield too.”
