Адепт запретной магии

Soul Breakpassive plus active trigger, pierces immunity

his basic attacks burn 40 / 60 / 100 enemy Mana and add extra damage equal to 100% of the Mana burnt. Once 100 Mana has been burnt in total, a Mana Storm hits a nearby low-Mana enemy for magical damage scaled from its lost Mana with a 3 / 5 / 7 multiplier on a 100 base, stunning enemies in a 234 / 234 / 320 radius for 0.5 s.

Role: a melee support answer to ability-heavy boards — he strips Mana so enemies never cast, and adds a stun on top. Place him up front so he reaches casters quickly; he is a solid mid-game pick and fills Feathered and Witcher synergies.

Synergies

Feathered · species
Synergy effect: (3) Evasion of allied Feathered pieces +25%. (6) Evasion of allied Feathered pieces +55%. (9) Evasion of allied Feathered pieces +55%. After an evasion triggers, the piece becomes invisible for 1 second and creates a phantom of the attacker that lasts 7 seconds; the trigger interval is 5 seconds. Illusion: inherits 100% of the original piece's attack and takes 100% damage, but does not inherit the skill, synergies, items or non-base stat bonuses (for example, the bonus attack from Avenge Knight's ability). Each piece can have only one illusion at a time. Illusions do not create illusions themselves.
How to play
Feathered is protection from physical damage through evasion: (3) is built from cheap heroes in the first rounds, and (6) in the mid game makes enemy fighters and shooters miss again and again. Evasion does not help against magic damage, so Feathered is complemented with other protection. (9) is a rare late build where every evasion also hides the piece and adds an illusion to the board.

Witcher · class
Synergy effect: (2) All allied Demons are treated as creatures of the same type. (4) All damage dealt by all allied pieces is converted into pure damage. Class trait: at the start of the battle, Witcher pieces are treated as Demons by the enemy. Witchers interfere with the enemy's Demon synergy count: if the opponent did not use a Demon mage to activate Wizard (4), a Witcher can additionally activate their Demons and break Wizard (4); if the opponent uses one Demon mage but cannot activate Wizard (4) because of Demons, a Witcher can switch off their Demon synergy and help activate Wizard (4).
How to play
Witchers are a narrow but unusual synergy: (2) lets all allied Demons count as creatures of one type, and (4) converts all allied damage into pure damage, which ignores the target's armor and magic resistance. There are few heroes and almost all of them are expensive, so these are mid- and late-game compositions; the thresholds are filled by heroes of different costs. Witchers naturally pair with Demons and with any heroes whose damage benefits from becoming pure.

hero story

I

It started to drizzle when the sun was going down. Standing in front of the house, Dee noticed that in addition to the water elements around the tree house, there was also a little strange magic hidden in the air. The magic belonged to... Witcher's sworn enemy. Dee's instinctual response to danger made him grip his dagger. Why would a demon come here? Was this another trick of Hell Knight? It was dead silent. After opening the door quietly, he didn't find the sinister visitor that he thought of. It turned out that the source of the strange magic was from his brother. "This is... the Demon's converting contract?" Dee couldn't believe that the stable Goar would get such a dangerous thing. "Today, when tracking demons, I accidentally got this contract." Goar said calmly. Dee put aside his uneasiness and said, "I will ask the Seer whether he knows how to destroy it." "No," said Goar, "I'm going to keep it."

II

Under the gloomy sky of Breeze Coast, a dark magic fire set Witchers' battlefield alight. After successfully besieging Hell Knight, Dee thought that the Feathered were about to win, but in fact they were about to meet a more powerful enemy. Gaping wounds slowed down Dee's reaction. He slowly looked up and found the shadow in front of him was because of his brother's body. Then he heard a howl of pain through Shadow Devil's mist. A figure was surrounded by blood. A force that he was familiar with and demon's power began to mingle in the air. As the mist lifted, a figure that Dee felt both strangely familiar and unfamiliar appeared—Goar had become a demon. The blood of the devil no longer flowed through his brother's veins of the same light as his own. Dee was filled with indescribable pain and anger. Why would things become like this? Was he too weak? Was it because he failed to destroy Goar's converting contract? Was he destined to lose what he wanted to protect? He couldn't help but think angrily.

III

Years later, he would still dream of the endless darkness. When he woke up, he would put on his cloak, hide himself in the shadow, and begin his routine patrol in Fallen Harbor. Fallen Harbor, built by the Feathered and Pandamen on Breeze Coast, became the most prosperous place in the New Forest and the home to many other races. From the coast to the Feathered Polis, everywhere was a thriving picture. After patrol he went to a tavern closest to the coast. A bard outside was telling passers-by about the past: During the Battle of Fallen Feathered, the Feathered Witcher degenerated into a demon and lost control due to the powerful contract power of Shadow Devil. The beautiful quiet Breeze Coast was destroyed, and the innocent people lost their homes. Whisper Seer predicted that he would eventually become a slave of demons and bring destruction to the Feathered. Later, the leader of Witchers volunteered to stay to guard the fallen Witcher, who was imprisoned in Fallen Harbor. Some lamented that they were once closest comrades, but now they became bitter enemies. Others said that their position was originally different: the former insisted on fighting against the demon while the latter took demon's power without permission... It was getting dark. Dee emptied his glass and left the noisy bustling behind.
